Look at the finely sculpted patterns on traditional Chinese stationery! (CRIENGLISH.com) |
Porcelain sculpture is an independent china decorative art which originated in Zibo, Shandong province. It reemerged in the 1970s when porcelain sculpture exhibitions were held in Cologne, Tennessee, the Raffles City of Singapore, Chicago, Switzerland and Hong Kong. The technique makes good use of ceramic shaping and the special features of colored glaze. It brings out the temperament and characteristics of ink and lines via hammering and chiseling, integrating superb skills and fine art. Chinese porcelain sculptures have frequently been presented to foreign state leaders as national gifts.
