An exhibition is focusing on one of the most important art traditions in China: the woodcut. At a gallery in Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province, the art of woodblock printing is taking center stage.
More than 100 works on display, all of them created this year, cover a diversity of themes and showcase the vitality and creativity of contemporary woodcut artists.
The works have been meticulously selected from a pool of over 1,500 from all over the country.
Hosted by the China Artists Association, this exhibition has been held annually since 2005. Every year it features different Chinese art traditions, including landscape painting, oil painting and more. This is the first time for woodcut printing to be featured at the event.
