Danish culture season kicked off its first starting point in China with the opening ceremony for Danish Architecture exhibition held in Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in Beijing Friday.
The exhibition focuses on interpretation of Danish architecture concept of "putting people first,"which comprises drawings and photographs, introducing some typical works of Danish architects from the early period to modern days, especially from 1945 to 1975, to show Danish architecture in different sections.
Other than the architecture exhibition, the whole cultural season programme will include exhibitions, concerts, film festivals, literary events, symposia, performing arts and theatre, special events with a focus on design, architecture and crafts, as well as initiatives focusing on children and young people in order to strengthen mutual understandings and profound cooperation with more groups or individuals in China and the whole world, said Michael Mørch, Secretary General of The Danish Cultural Institute.
The Danish culture season is specially designed with CAFA in Beijing to boost cultural exchanges in China. Apart from Beijing, the programme will be held in other major cities in China as well to better impact the cultural interaction. "We want this to be dialogue, not monologue", says Vera Noldus, the curator of the exhibition.
