Photo Beijing 2014 kicked off on Oct 12 at the China Millennium Monument and will run through Oct 18. The week-long event, with the theme of "Boundless Field of Vision", covers a series of various exhibitions, photography lectures and themed activities and an awards ceremony.
The exhibition attracted photographers from many countries, including the US, Germany, Italy, Argentina, San Marino, Burma, Iran and Japan.
As this year marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of photography, 175 original works by 175 world renowned photography masters made their debut in China.
Also, works from the presidents of three major photography organizations in the world - International Federation of PhotographicArt (FIAP), Royal Photographic Society (RPS) and International Union of Photographers (UPI) - will also be put on display, as well as those from other 10 institutions.
Nearly 200 award-winning works from China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP) during the past 10 years are also on display at the exhibition.
President of FIAP Riccardo Busi and the president of the China Artistic Photography Society, Yang Yuanxing, and other major figures in photography circles attended the event.
