The 7th Cross-Strait (Xiamen) Cultural Industry Fair was held on Oct 24.

The exhibition attracted 1,583 attendees, including 657 Taiwan companies. This year’s exhibition is the largest Taiwanese cultural and creative themed exhibition to ever be held on the mainland. Visitors from both sides of the Strait exchanged and sought business opportunities related to art works, creative design and digital content and cultural and creative tourism.

During the fair, a series of forums and symposia will be held. As an additional bright spot this year, the host launched a mobile app to help attendees communicate.

As one of the important activities of the exhibition, a design exhibition for college students attracted 23 colleges and universities from both sides of the Strait. It provided a platform for youth to exchange ideas on culture and art.

Tseng Wenpei, a member of the standing committee of the Kuomintang, a major party in Taiwan, said at the opening ceremony that this exhibition fair is the only national exhibition named “Cross-Strait” and is jointly held by both sides of the Taiwan Strait. It is a platform to exchange and present the latest fruits of the cultural industry. The Chinese mainland and Taiwan have strong complementary advantages for each other. The Chinese mainland has rich resources and Taiwan is home to talent and sales skills. He said that he hoped the exhibition would promote exchanges and cooperation on both sides of the Strait.

The event was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television and co-organized by the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government and Asia-Pacific Cultural Creative Industry Association.
