An exhibition featuring fine arts created by Chinese ethnic minority artists from around the country is being held at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing.

The exhibition, which opened Dec 14 and ends Dec 22, is co-hosted by the Ethnic Affairs Commission of China, the Chinese Ministry of Culture, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC), and Chinese Artists Association.

The last exhibition of its kind was held in 2004, and this year's organizing committee received more than 2,000 paintings for consideration. In all, 515 were chosen for display by the expert panel.

The selected works are a manifestation of significant achievements in fine arts over the past 10 years by artists from different Chinese ethnic minorities.

The paintings varied in theme and style, including oil paints, Chinese ink painting and folk arts like Thangka. They reflect the colorful life of the Chinese ethnic minorities and their pursuit of art.
