Following the founding of the People's Republic of China, the government promulgated a constitution and system of laws and regulations that ensure the equality of women. Women have equal rights in every area, including political, economic, cultural, educational, social, and domestic. Today, women make up half of China's workforce, and their contributions in every field are equal to those of men.
