This year is both the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Romania, said Romania's"Chinese Romanians".

On August 8, the Chinese Romanians'celebration of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China kicked off with 18 overseas Chinese association delegates present.

The opening ceremony was held in the Red Dragon Market run and managed by Chinese in suburban Bucharest at 2 pm of August 8.

8 basketball teams, representing their own individual association or enterprise founded voluntarily by Chinese, made their first appearance demonstrating the theme of a positive attitude, solidarity and cooperation.

The whole celebration funded, organized and designed by Chinese Romanian associations will last one and a half months and be expected to close on September 26.

During this period, there will be a series of diverse celebration activities including a basketball match, a tug-of-war, dragon and lion dance, and a large-scale entertainment evening party.
