“Inviting the Moon”, Tangshan, Hebei

In Tangshan, the best place to admire the full moon is on the “Inviting the Moon” (Yao Yue) Island. The name of this island is from the poem “Raising my cup, I asked the bright moon” written by Li Bai, a famous poet from the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Eating the moon cakes and drinking has become the favorite activity for the Mid-utumn Festival for Tangshan citizens. Also, the Phoenix Pavilion is a nice place to admire the fine contrast between the bright moon and shining lake.
