Even the chilly winter rain fails to abate the passion of Swedes and local Chinese to enjoy lion and dragon dances in central Stockholm on February 2, celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Horse.

Dressed in colorful yet warm coats, joyful kids sat astride on fathers' necks and waved red balloon sticks, so enchanted by the dancing lions and dragons they densely surround. Some, couldn't help swinging their body to the beating rhythm, even under umbrellas.

"We have a world famous collection of art from China and it feels the natural place to celebrate the Chinese New Year," Petri Tigercrona, Program Coordinator told Xinhua.

"We want to connect both the historical China but also China today. So if there is an official celebration of the Chinese New Year, it should be at this museum," said Tigercrona.

Jointly organized by the Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities and local Chinese communities, the celebrations have been a routine cultural feast for people of both cultures in Sweden.
