The "China Library" was inaugurated on March 28 at the College of Europe, an independent institute of European studies located in Bruges, a historic city of Belgium.
The "China Library" is a brand from China's State Council Information Office (SCIO) that is dedicated to introducing China and promoting cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
Ling Li, a senior official with the SCIO, said at an opening ceremony that the launch of the library will make studying China more convenient for scholars and students at the College of Europe.
"I believe the China Library will be a new highlight in cultural exchanges between China and the European Union (EU)," he said.
The SCIO has donated around 10,000 books and audio-visual publications in six different languages to the library.
The publications are about China's education, science, arts, history and people's life in modern China.
Jorg Monar, rector of the College of Europe said the "China Library", which is a beautiful gift from China, will be the witness of the intensifying China-EU cooperation.
