Geng Ying, the president of China Cultural Heritage Foundation, told reporters in an interview, "We hope that through this activity, young people can love Chinese civilization and strengthen their national awareness. In the next five years, we plan to extend our route to westbound, even to the borderline of China." He also added that he hopes the students can slow down to appreciate Chinese culture, which will have a positive impact on their future.
According to Li Hengbin, the Vice Chairman of Calligraphers Association of Gansu Province and Director of Institute of Calligraphy of Lanzhou University, the foundation has a long-standing collaboration with Lanzhou University, and donated 150,000 books to the university this time around. Geng Ying said she hopes the teachers at Lanzhou University will exchange and spread knowledge to the outside world in a better way.
