Chinese-American singer Wang Leehom and pianist Li Yundi both revealed their girlfriends on social media networks on the same day in November, sparking both well wishes and speculation on their sexuality.
The subject of many gay rumors, Wang has had his post forwarded more than 1 million times, with many people cheekily wondering, "What would Li Yundi [his rumored boyfriend] think?"
Later that night, Li further fueled online gossip when he suddenly posted a photo of a woman whom he claimed to be dating. Netizens quickly pointed out that both Wang and Li's girlfriends are attending Columbia University, while others aired their suspicions that it was all a publicity stunt.
Less than 24 hours after announcing to the world he had a girlfriend, Wang went on to declare that his girlfriend had become his wife and he was a married man. While he posted a family photo with all family members, many discussions ensued as many netizens claimed the photo had been photoshopped.
